The 10 Steps

Step 1:
Oil

Oil cleansers are the first step in any Korean routine. They are also the first half of the double cleanse. These cleansers help break down the layer of makeup, sunscreen, pollution and other oil-based impurities, that accumulate through the day.

How to use:

Gently massage the cleanser onto dry face. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Step 2:
Water
cleanser

This is the second step of the double cleanse. It is also dermatologically recommended to cleanse your skin twice to prevent any impurities from remaining. The water-based cleanser thus removes water based dirt and sweat, which the oil cleanser may miss. This gives your skin an overall cleanse.

How to use:

Use lukewarm water and lather. Gently apply and massage over face and neck. Rinse.

Physical or chemical exfoliators help remove dead skin cells, and clear dirt from pores. This leaves your skin looking brighter and smoothens its texture. Using an exfoliator regularly will also help your skin absorb other products better, giving better results.

How to use:

Gently apply the exfoliator on your skin, and massage into skin- with particular focus on one’s nose and pores on the cheek. Exfoliate 1-2 times a week, as required by your skin.

How to use:

Pour a few drops of the toner on a cotton pad, and swipe it gently across your face and neck. You can also use your hands and pat it in with your fingers.

Sun
Protection

This is crucial step for preventing further skin issues from developing. You should always remember to wear sunscreen when beginning your day! It will help prevent issues such as aging, fine lines, pigmentation etc. early on. By using it last, it creates a shield on your skin, as is not weakened by other product layers.

How to use:

Gently dab it onto your face and neck at the end of your skincare routine. Remember to re-apply it through the day as required.
